Glossier You - “The ultimate personal fragrance”

Put best by Glossier themselves...You is “hard to describe, but easy to appreciate.”

Sophisticated, mysterious, personal...for me that's what comes to mind when trying to explain this fragrance that's become a fast favorite of mine. Top notes of iris root and pink pepper make for a truly dynamic duo that initially gives You a clean and bubbly scent. Upon first sniff it’s crisp and bright, but there’s definitely something deeper introduced to the senses as well — its layers are complex. The subtle, yet heady base notes of ambrette, ambrox, and musk are what gives You its warm and almost primal scent. This is where the scent takes a personal turn...this is where the final ingredient comes into play as they say that You comes incomplete and your own personal body chemistry is what makes the scent smell slightly different on each person. I can attest to that being true as I've smelled it on myself, my husband, and both my sister and sister-in-law. While the top notes make for a familiar scent on everyone, there's also a variance in how it differs from person to person. For example: on myself and my husband the ambrox and musk are slightly more apparent which make You smell a little more saltier on us (if that makes any sense 🤷‍♀️...and I don't mean sweaty either, so this is definitely hard to explain 😅). When my sister and my sister-in-law wear You, the top notes seem to shine through most making for a brighter and bubblier almost floral scent.

So what was the verdict? I mean, we all know that I personally love it, but as far as what the others thought...to be perfectly honest...they loved it! Everyone was fond of the scent right away, but what we liked the most was how it smelled differently on each of us. Not to mention it has amazing sillage (in fragrance talk that is the degree to which a perfume's fragrance lingers in the air when worn). While the scent does tone itself down a bit after melting into your skin, it's still apparent hours later and throughout the day, but it's subtle. If I had a rating system (which I may or may not have just made up for, and might keep implementing after, this article) I would rate it with 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 5 out of 5 starry eyed emojis and highly recommend it to anyone enticed by unique fragrances (glossier offers samples with online orders).

Pricing: Glossier You Eau de Parfum is $60 for a 1.7 fl oz / 50 ml bottle and $22 for the solid version. *In case you need it 😉 here’s a link for 10% off of your first Glossier purchase — I don’t get paid if you use it, but I will receive a percentage off my next order as well if you do, so it’s a win win situation my friend! 😁😁

Next up: more Glossier reviews! I recently stopped by their showroom in New York and it's pretty safe to say that I've got plenty to review. Once I've tested out and given proper trials to all my new products I'll start dishing out the scoop on what's good and what's great, so stay tuned!

👋👋 Until next time!
